Packaging industry meeting center at the Taropak Fair


Several thousand visitors, a hundred exhibitors, several dozen new products - this is what the Taropak 2022 Fair looked like! Fair guests had the opportunity to participate in several industry events. In addition, they could visit the Polagra Fair exhibition held simultaneously.

This year's Taropak Fair, held on September 26-28, has become a business meeting center for the packaging industry for three days. This year, the exhibitors showed many devices that automate the production of packaging, they presented their new packaging machines, there were also packaging materials, labels and fillers. A significant part of the exhibition this year was devoted to ecological solutions, which the Competition Jury did not miss by awarding the Gold Medals of the MTP Group during the Taropak 2022 Fair.

Appreciated quality

Five products were awarded during this year's edition of the MTP Gold Medal competition during the Taropak Fair. The awards were presented on September 26 during a gala by the Vice-President of the Management Board of Grupa MTP, Ms. Elżbieta Roeske, and the Chairman of the Gold Medal Competition Jury, prof. Andrzej Korzeniowski.

- At the current edition of TAROPAK 2022, most of the submitted applications focused on "environmentally friendly" products, characterized by high quality and innovative solutions - noted prof. dr hab. Andrzej Korzeniowski, chairman of the Competition Jury.

Ecological solutions

Among the awarded companies was the collection of ecological papers GMUND BIO CYCLE, made of vegetable fibers and completely compostable, by Büttenpapierfabrik Gmund GmbH & Co. KG, distributed on the Polish market by ZiNG S.A. The "NATURAL" cardboard picnic backpack by TFP Sp. z o.o., completely nature-friendly - made of cardboard printed with water-based inks, in digital technology. ATS-Tanner Polska Sp. Z oo was awarded for the ecological paper tape TruePaper. z o.o. TruePaper consists of at least 95% pure paper or more than 50% recycled fibers, can be recycled and is suitable for direct food contact. TruePaper contains a water-based binder that can be bonded using ultrasonic and heat seal technology. For this product, ATS-Tanner Polska Sp. z o.o. she also received the Gold Medal - Consumers' Choice.

Efficient packing

Gold Medals were also awarded to companies representing the machinery sector. RADPAK Fabryka Maszyn Pakacyjnych Sp. z o.o. was awarded for the RM - 55 HAI bag packing machine. A novelty in the RM-55 HAI machine is a pre-prepared bag made of a foil sleeve, and the mechanism for cutting off the appropriate length of the sleeve prepares the bag for welding the bottom. A new impulse sealing system has been used in the machine, which ensures high efficiency and repeatable quality of the welded joint. The robotic palletizing systems submitted by the Łukasiewicz Research Network and the PIAP Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements were also awarded for the innovative approach to designing and implementing a unique, individual solution, dedicated to the requirements and guidelines of the customer.

Impressive displays

During the Taropak 2022 fair, three companies were awarded the Acanthus Aureus statuette for stands characterized by the best architectural and graphic solutions, which favored direct communication with the client and emphasized the positive image of the company: the Łukasiewicz Research Network, Wald-Gold and VP Polska.

Design that sells

The second edition of the Taropak Design conference attracted many listeners this year. The two-day concept of the event allowed for a broad presentation of the topic of the importance of marketing and sales in the packaging industry, and also allowed for live neuromarketin research on the participants of the event, which showed how much our brain reacts to unusual packaging solutions that attract the consumer's eyes. The invited experts suggested how to increase product sales through appropriate design, how to use new technologies to create brands or revealed the golden rules of packaging design. The conference partners who created a special Design Zone at the Taropak Fair were: Burgopak Poland, Zing, ASM Research / Neurolab, Dragon Rouge and Smurfit Kappa - which prepared this year's arrangement of the conference scene.

E-commerce for packaging

The subject of the e-commerce sector appeared on the Taropak stage for the third time, again noting a great success. The audience was bursting at the seams when invited experts, representing companies such as Allegro Biznes, Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz, Max & Mrau, DrMax Drogeria, TFP, VP Polska, Versor Engineering, Digit Pack or the Sztuka E-Commerce blog, shared their knowledge and experience on the current challenges of the e-commerce market. Among the topics discussed, eco-solutions in packaging for shipments dominated, but the speakers also focused on current topics related to consumer expectations, including the consumer's feelings related to the so-called unboxing experience or the possibility of printing e-commerce packaging. The main partner of the conference was Allegro Biznes.

Collaboration within the industry

The industry zones of the Taropak Fair were a treat for the fair visitors. As every year, one of such zones was created by the Polish Chamber of Packaging together with its members who presented their latest products. On a special stage, PIO also organized its conference on trends and directions of changes in the packaging market.

A novelty for visitors was the exhibition created by members of the Association of Polish Self-Adhesive Labels Producers. The companies representing SPPES presented their solutions, at the same time creating an ideal place for business talks with representatives of companies producing self-adhesive labels, which was conducive to a closer understanding of the labeling environment in Poland.

For three days, Taropak also hosted the Ukrainian Packaging Producers Club with several members, incl. Pack Group, Vesna, Anfol, Packprint or Pabags. The Packaging Producers Club of Ukraine is an association of producers and consumers of packaging materials, packaging machines, containers and packaging in Ukraine. The club was represented at the Taropak fair by its President and the editor-in-chief of Upakovka Magazine - Valery Kriwoszej.

The organizers continue the annual cycle of the Taropak Fair, which is why the next edition of the Taropak Fair - traditionally - will be held in the fall next year! The plans include not only further industry zones and substantive conferences, but also new products and surprises in the exhibition offer.
